Sunflower oil is an edible oil produced from the seeds of the sunflower.
The oil intended for human consumption is properly processed, in order to produce a high quality product, transparent, with a blond color and slightly sweet taste, rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and free of toxic substances.
It is used in salad dressings and in the preparation of mayonnaise and margarine as well. It is also used in confectionery, cooking and frying, as it withstands high temperatures.
